Red Above the Snow

Elara read you Brak's letter. Wings over the mines have grown common, and one of them was red — a kind Millbrook has only ever treated as a story. She sent you to Quarry End to hear the rest.

Torven saw red wings over Whitehorn, and a cache on the trail was burned and not robbed. Brak sent you into the Grey Tor roost to learn the color, and to leave the green mother alive.

You went four floors into the roost. Everything in that rock was green. Brak believed you, and sent you to find the burned cache on the Whitehorn trail.

You found the cache under the fissure: props blackened, oil burst, nothing looted. Brak would not open the lair until you had a smear of ash gel.

You rendered ash gel from Grantwood resin and Cinderfen coal. Brak looked at the jar, left it in your pack, and opened the fissure.

You cleared the Dragon Lair. The last floor was one red dragon. You killed it and left the fissure.

Torven bought you a drink and went back to the crew. Brak sent new props up the trail. You told Elara the red dragon is dead and the mines are safe.
